The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is one of the most renowned management entrance exams conducted in India for admission to various postgraduate management programs. XAT serves as a gateway to various management programs offered by XLRI and many other top-tier B-schools across the country.

The XAT exam is conducted annually in January by XLRI on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI).Since its inception in 1956, XAT has maintained its unique nature by incorporating a subjective essay writing section in addition to the Objective Multiple Choice questions (MCQs)

XAT score is the total marks scored in the XAT test & XAT percentile is the rank of the student in the exam. If the candidate score more than 35 marks his percentile will be 95 .The XLRI XAT Cutoff is between 92 to 95 percentiles.

 

Date of XAT Exam 2024: January 7, 2024

Registration start date: July 15, 2023

Registration End date: November 30, 2023

Admit card download: From December 20 onwards

 

XAT Fees 2024:

XAT Registration Fee – Rs. 2100/-

Candidates interested in XLRI programmes have to pay an additional fee of Rs. 200/- each.

 

XAT Eligibility Criteria 2024

 

To be eligible for XAT exam, a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree or be in the final year of their bachelor’s program. There are no specific percentage requirements, and candidates from any discipline can apply. Working professionals with CA, CMA, CS, degrees are also prefer these programmes

XAT Exam syllabus

 

Number of Multiple choice Questions: 100 (1 marks each), Reduction for each incorrect answer is 0.25 marks and reduction of marks for each un attempted questions is 0.10 marks.Essay Question: Paragraph of 250 words

    1. Verbal and Logical ability : In this phase candidates are evaluated on their command over English language, including their understanding of grammar rules, reading comprehension and logical thinking
    2. Quantitative ability and data interpretation : This section assesses candidates analytical and quantitative skills in areas like arithemetic,geometric,algera,and data interpretation
    3. Decision Making: Candidates are tested on their capacity to make morally sound decisions under duress in the decision making part, which also includes case studies and situational questions.
    1. General Knowledge: Candidates general knowledge is tested in this section, which includes questions on current events, static GK, and business

    • Each section will contain between 22 to 30 questions.
    • General Knowledge and Essay sections will not be considered for the cutoff score. Their evaluation will be only during the interview stage

Indian candidates can apply through GMAT/GRE for PGDM (GM) whereas an NRI/Foreign national can apply through GMAT for all the programmes. GRE scores are only valid for PGDM (GM).

Fee for NRI/Foreign Candidates applying for one or more programmes through GMAT– Rs. 5000/-
